The USSSA World Series qualifying procedures are determined by each State Director. They may vary based on available tournaments, number of teams registered, and several other criteria that can be used by a State Director. We will list here to policies of each state and what the protocol is for teams in that State are for qualifying for USSSA World Series. Please be sure to check the state of your registration to see how your team can get to one of the USSSA World Series events.
Colorado
For Colorado USSSA, teams can qualify in one or two possible scenarios: Direct Berth: Teams placing 1st or 2nd in a Colorado qualifying tournament. At-Large Berth: 10U Teams: Play in at least 2 Colorado USSSA tournaments and the State Tournament. 12U Teams: Play in at least 3 Colorado USSSA tournaments and the State Tournament. 14U-18U Teams: Play in at least 4 Colorado USSSA tournaments and the State Tournament.
Iowa
For Iowa USSSA, teams can qualify in one or two possible scenarios: Fall Qualifying Direct Berths: will be given to the top 2 teams at every event. At-Large Berths: Fall Tournaments will count as ½ credit for At-Large berths. Example: 2 Fall tournaments count as 1 Tournament for season.
Spring/Summer Qualifying Direct Berth: Teams finishing 1st or 2nd will receive direct berths to the World Series. 3 Berths will be awarded for divisions of 12 or more. Berths will be handed down from already qualified teams to next non-qualified team. At-Large Berth: 10-14U teams playing in 4 World Series qualifying events in any state will receive an at-large berth to the World Series. At-Large Berth: 15-18U teams playing in 3 World Series qualifying events in any state will receive an at-large berth to the World Series.
Fall event count applies to season total count starting August 1. To fulfill any of these berths teams must play in their State Championships, which will count as one of their events played. Teams will have multiple options to play in a State event and may play in more than 1 State Championship in their State. Teams may only earn State level points in 1 of those events, all other events will be awarded qualifier level points.
Kansas
For Kansas USSSA, teams can qualify in one or two possible scenarios: Fall Qualifying Direct Berth: For direct berths in all fall Kansas USSSA Tournaments, one berth will be awarded up to 12 teams. Two berths for divisions greater than 12. To fulfill this berth, teams MUST participate in one event after March 1, and MUST participate in the Summer Kansas USSSA State Tournament. At-Large Berth: For the 2010 season, the Fall tournaments will only give 1/2 credit for the at-large qualifying. Spring/Summer Qualifying Direct Berth: For direct berths in all Kansas USSSA Tournaments, a sliding scale will be used to determine the number of berths awarded per division. For 1-8 teams, one berth will be awarded. For 8-14 teams, 2 berths will be awarded. For 15 or more teams, 3 berths will be awarded. To fulfill this berth, teams MUST participate in the Summer Kansas USSSA State Tournament. At-Large Berth (change for 2010) : 10U-14U Teams: Teams that participate in five (5) USSSA qualifying tournaments (in any state) will be awarded a USSSA World Series berth. To fulfill this berth, teams MUST participate in the Summer Kansas USSSA State Tournament. (Reminder, all fall events gave 1/2 credit towards at-large berth) 15U-18U Teams: Teams that participate in three (3) USSSA qualifying tournaments (in any state) will be awarded a USSSA World Series berth. To fulfill this berth, teams MUST participate in one event after March 1st, and MUST participate in the Summer Kansas USSSA State Tournament. Minnesota
Missouri

For Nebraska USSSA, teams can qualify in one or two possible scenarios: Direct Berth: Teams placing first or second in a WS qualifying tournament will be given a direct berth to the USSSA World Series that they are sanctioned for. To fulfill this berth, teams MUST participate in at least 1 sanctioned USSSA event in Nebraska and play the Nebraska USSSA State Tournament. At-Large Berth: Teams that participate in four (4) USSSA qualifying tournaments (in any state) will be awarded a USSSA World Series berth. To fulfill this berth, teams MUST participate in the Nebraska USSSA State Tournament.
South Dakota
For South Dakota USSSA, teams will qualify for USSSA World Series play by participating in the South Dakota USSSA State Tournament.
